When will these kind of things change

Off late i have been angry with the way things happen in India. Everybody wants a say but no body is ready to question back. Why is it so? Are we afraid of questioning or we just want to adjust and live the way we are cribbing !!!

Last week i wanted to book gas, the whole week i kept trying the phone of that dealer which is continuously engaged...Yes for one good week any time you call all you hear is ___________ and then keep trying and trying..One day i lost patience and then saw their online portal where you can book gas online and then when i did register i saw this dealer is not available for online booking...And then i lost it..I just logged in a complaint against the dealer mentioning its impossible for working ladies to book a gas and even all the other people have to travel a lot to come to him and personally book a gas. And then i went on Saturday to book gas then i saw almost a group of people fighting with the lady in the counter about the same issue..I gave her the number and said i want to book gas..she said its already booked and will be delivered soon..When i came home i got the gas..I was late in checking the other mail account which i used for complaining in which i got a reply saying my gas is booked and if again the same repeats i can lodge a complaint with  the GM in Pune...I said wonderful at least some thing in India works the way it should...

But then again to my disappointment i see the petrol filling station guys behaviour. We normally fill petrol from a company owned petrol pump believing that there is nothing this guys would mix in petrol.. Now we have been filling petrol from the same station for almost years now. Last to last week i guess the petrol prices were hiked and i see many people asking for normal petrol instead of speed since the price is on the higher side by 3/-. Now this guy has stopped selling normal petrol. After the price increase we went thrice to fill petrol and all the time this guy said is there is no Normal petrol all we have is Speed petrol. I asked him why he says company is not supplying normal petrol.

I wanted to blast him saying there are no tankers separately that comes for speed petrol only the pits are different you fill normal petrol to the speed petrol pit and then add ingredients to make it speed petrol. Now if you know all people want is normal petrol why cant you fill that pit and sell normal petrol..But then i hold back i told him give me a bill, he gave me a bill with no dealer ship number no address..I told him give me a proper bill i want to write to your company and understand why they are not supplying normal petrol. He is like you can complain over here i told him i don't want to..I will write to the company..He started giving me reasons...All i said to him is "you guys play with us since there is no one to question you"

What i don't understand is why can't people be honest in doing things..And if somebody is not why do we think so much to question them...I got irritated when this guy was selling speed petrol to all of them who are asking normal petrol..By the time i finished with him i almost saw 10 cars asking for normal petrol and this guy filling speed petrol for a tank full of petrol..Disgusting guys...Learn some honesty and sincerity and be honest in at least replying..say we are instructed to do so..i would still accept it...and then speak with the person who has instructed them to do so..I don't think as a company Bharat Petroleum will instruct its dealers to do so..But the person who has a dealership can happily instruct his workers to do so...

Now i  am searching for the right person to write a complain about the BP guys...

Jaipur....Capital of Rajasthan

I think i have got into the idea of visiting all the capital cities in India...One such visit to a beautiful pink city...

Jaipur is called pink city since half of the city (Old city) is all painted in pink...All the shops buildings and all the things are painted in pink. It is so because the Raja who built Jaipur after amer decided to do so...He also built a great architecture...All the roads are designed in such a way that there are no curves..They all meet at right angles and every such meeting of four roads must have a monument or a fountain. It is wonderful to see the old city.

We did visit Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Amer Palace and Jal Mahal..All of them are well maintained compared to the palaces that are maintained in Maharastra. The way they have made audio guides are wonderful. This time i preferred to try one after saying No to one such thing in Qutub Minar in Delhi. One of the reason is that we both don't know history of these buildings and the guides were demanding enormous amounts compared to audio guide.I found it informative and reasonable. Contrary to all the mahals we did hire a guide in amer palace and i hardly heard what he said since he was repeating the same story that was written over there.

Hawa Mahal is a very nice construction made for then Queens to see the happenings of the city with out coming out in public which was not allowed then due to parda system...It is really wonderful to see the market from inside, You can keep a chair at any of the window you like and sit and see the city from inside as the wind blows by you.

The architecture is done on the outside walls while the inside walls remain normal.

The view from one of the window....It is a five storied building. From the top you can see Jantar Mantar, City Palace and Nahargarh fort and amer fort.

Next destination was Jantar Mantar..I did not happen to understand anything of what it is and how did they try and estimate things..But i did appreciate the efforts of the Raja to build such thing in order to predict the solar and lunar eclipses and the positions of the sun and the zodiac signs.

City Palace is also a wonderful creation. The Raja used to stay here and the palace is still maintained very neatly and the architecture and the other things are still preserved. The armour museum is wonderful and astonishing to see..all the swords and their information is very well organized. The audio guide would explain everything about daggers, swords and armours too...

The amer Palace is wonderful. One who has seen Jodha Akbar would like to see the palace. The architects had built in such a way that the summers can be spent in a place which is built of marbles and the water flow on slides built so that the wind will get cooled and the water then reaches the garden in between the fort. From the fort you will be able to see the Wall of Jaipur which is a 12km stretch.

And then the next thing we did is Shop...of course i did not buy too much of stuff but it is good to see the bazaars...all in pink and all the guys would call you with only one name Didi...Their point of bargaining is also catchy...they would say aap ki bhai ko itna kam paise denge...Instead i would say bargain as much as you can cause all the prices are triple since it is a tourist place...

 Market...See all painted in pink...

Dhood Dhood Piyo Roj Glass full...You can find many of such guys who are selling milk in such big vessels...

Rawat Kachori - Famous kachori center in Jaipur...People were fighting to get a plate for themselves...

Thinking what would be my next place of visit...Even i don't know..Will search for a capital again...Lucknow maybe..

P.S: We stayed at Country Inn & Suites and it is a wonderful hotel to stay....

Delhi....Captial of India

Absconded from Blog...No no...just late in posting things...

Have been to Delhi and Hissar during Diwali.

This time i get to see Delhi compared to what it was last time. Reached Delhi by afternoon and chose to stay at friends place. Gurgaon though is far from Delhi and no auto rickshaws to catch its a boon that Delhi has a metro connecting Gurgaon. We used metro completely for all the travel in Delhi.

I should mention this that for the First time i have seen such a clean platform and well maintained trains. I felt like appreciating every worker in DMRC. Its built completely to the perfection, the ads and the information is completely perfect for a person who is new to Delhi. There are enough people in the station to direct to anything you want to. We bought a DMRC railway card in order to save ourselves from standing in line all the time to buy tokens. It was a convenient way too. They take a deposit from you for the card and you keep recharging it whenever you want to with various denominations mentioned. It shows you how much it did charge for the last journey and how much is the balance on the card every time you punch in and out of a metro station. Its quite fabulous i must say. There are centers available in every station outside the punching counter for the information on the trains and recharging, I must mention here that the guy is very efficient in doing the job. All in all Metro is a boon in Delhi and if can be constructed and maintained in the same way in every city which is planning to then i would say we need not do much for public transport. The way they have built stations, parking lots which i think in no time will be converted to multi layer parking is just amazing. The vision is too good for future to sustain the population.

The first day started with Visiting India Gate..I don't know from how many years i just wanted to see it. It feels amazing to be there until you see that people in India can still litter at this place also. All the government could do is manage the surroundings just to be clean..there is a park next to it which is not at all maintained. Every body eats there and throws stuff there..So typical of us INDIANS...anyways...this monument was designed by Sir Edward Lutyens.

On the top of the India gate, is written INDIA and below that is the inscription which states

"To the dead of the Indian armies who fell honoured in France and Flanders Mesopotamia and Persia East Africa Gallipoli and elsewhere in the near and the far-east and in sacred memory also of those whose names are recorded and who fell in India or the north-west frontier and during the Third Afghan War"

and the walls are inscribed with the 90000 soldiers names who lost their lives in the war. After the Indo pak war the Amar Jawan Jyoti was erected at the base. The Jyoti is lit 365 days 24 hours and a guard is always standing in such a way that he is paying homage to the soldiers.

The only thing i did not like much is that people get photos clicked with the back ground of India gate. If you are saying that it is built in order to recognize the soldiers then i think we should respect the monument instead of treating it as a visitor place and get clicked there..You click but click the India gate alone not with you in it and please maintain the place neatly.

I was bowled by the architecture that was built by Lutyens. There is a part of Delhi which is called as Lutyens Delhi cause he designed everything there. One should see the roads and the foot paths and the buildings this guy planned. Its amazing, he planned four lane roads, a lane big foot path, crossings on the road, and all this even before we got independence and when i see the roads being planned so pathetically now i feel sad. No wonder a guy like E Sreedharan said he would make a underground metro in that area to save the structure built by Lutyens.

In all i would say Delhi is a wonderful place.. I know that there are reports which show that delhi is high in crime rate but for me i did not see one such incidence happening with me atleast... :) All in all i loved the city...Ofcourse did not get time to visit Chadini chowk and other such places but did shopping in Janpath and Connaught place and even saw Qutub Minar and Akashardham....

Rest of the places next time when i go to Delhi...After all you cannot complete Delhi in 3 days....

Are other countries correct or are we correct

This doubt is nagging in my mind from long time...Why do we think that we are always right, if we are then are the other countries wrong.... This post is about following rules.. Set by a particular governing body but not followed by us...

The society in which i use to stay before has this waste separation like wet and dry waste...I have moved out of the society and in this new society it is just introduced...I was happy of course.. I was in the lift the other day and then i heard two women who are high class society, driving good cars, educated people with good educated sons and daughters nagging about this issue..." Kya yaar ye society wale hamesha naya rules lagate rehte hai...aab ye dry waste or wet waste ka..kya farak padta hai...now i have to buy a new dustbin"...Immediately the other lady said why buy new dustbin, use small poly bags to keep the dust outside...Apparently this lady's son stays in USA...I was surprised.....

Not only this we are not bothered about many things...My husband keeps saying..when on a red light, the person who is at the back of all the cars is the one who will honk immediately after the signal turns green....Half of the people who do this are educated enough not to do that...But we still do...I understand emergencies where people are in hospital and you need to reach in that minute itself but by driving like this are you not risking your life and others also...

I wonder why USA and UK people drive as per traffic rules...i am not saying that all of them do...But 90% of them do...and in India 90% of us don't do...Bearly people stop when a person is trying to cross a road...Remember that pedestrian has the first right on the road...When people visit other countries they say you know..they have a system jaha pe pedestrian can choose to change the signal to red and cross the road if he wants to...i am so moved by that technology...So what if we don't have the technology...when you come back would you stop for a pedestrian to cross the road...No no aisa kaisa hoga...mere peeche wale gaadi honk karega...so what where does your judgement go..if he wants to jump you will also jump into the well ....

India first needs to change the way they issue driving licence...A written test should be there and then a verbal test and then a driving test...which should be given to the army people who have a proven track record of not taking bribes...Because today i don't believe that there is one traffic police who does not take bribe and i don't find fault with them..cause we offer it...

Some basic rules of traffic:

1. STOP when a pedestrian is trying to cross the road, it does not matter in which road and how much is the traffic, just STOP let him cross....

2. STOP at the yellow light of the signal...you need not put your car in fourth gear, honk and cross the signal..the maximum time of the signal will be 120secs...2 min of your time...

3. Don't HONK at red signals..

4. Don't STOP on zebra crossings....

5. Don't Change LANES as per your wish when you are struck in traffic jams

6. If some body is indicating right or a left, let them go by, STOP and let them change lanes...

I also know how frustrating it is to drive these days, i also feel other countries follow rules cause they have big roads, but i also think at the same time, did they have them right from the first day...

Our traffic sense is so bad, that we today don't offer side to an ambulance...where as in other countries, when they hear the siren all of them move and make the way to go...I wonder why can't we do that...Don't we know the value of the life of a person..No we do...but we just don't want to...One day on a highway the ambulance was behind a car with its siren on..this car driver was not giving side..we had to overtake the ambulance and the car and signal him to move...then he slowly moves..i felt like stopping him and slapping him...and for your information...this car driver is driving a benz and the car belongs to some reputed company (i don't want to quote the company, i read the sticker on his car)....

I wonder can we ever improve and make a better living...by just following some simple rules set by a particular governing body...

The lady in the lift does not separate her waste even today and the poor society guys keeps notices in the notice board about the same....

Have a little faith

I have completed the new book by Mitch albom - Have a little faith.

It mainly speaks about having faith and comfort on believing something bigger than yourself. A true story narrated by mitch albom when he is asked to do eulogy by his Rabbi.

In this book Mitch albom explains how two people who spread the word of god have the same faith and the how faith can change things.

Pastor Henry a refined drug dealer takes a path to become Pastor and then lives in a church with a hole in the roof and serves people who are in need of a home. How Mitch is in a dilemma to help this guy and how he ends up helping this guy and how he fixes the hole in the roof.

The real video as to how the roof got fixed is available in abc news:

http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=9399137

The book is a good read, though some times you feel philosophical it does not preach how to become philosophical..its a insight on how different communities have the same faith in fighting for the survival.

In Mitch's words : Have a Little Faith is a book about a life’s purpose; about losing belief and finding it again; about the divine spark inside us all. It is one man’s journey, but it is everyone’s story.

What do you expect from a doctor

I really sometimes don't understand what people expect from a Doctor...They forget that he/she is also a person..Rather than a doctor what do you want a hospital staff to be..

This post is in line with how people behave with hospital staff and some times with the doctors also...It might be my experience also...but then my question is are you not expecting more...

Long before in India also doctors strictly use to say we will see only these many patients come what may and if there is something come in as emergency and we will see...Now the doctors have changed this perspective towards patients...Personally when i go to a doctor if there is waiting time i say that's fine...Oh don't think my waiting time is on holidays and was always restricted to some 20mins...I use to go after my office hours reach there and wait almost 2 hours for a simple meeting of 10mins and then leave....This is the case after i take appointment...It use to be too late by the time i reach home but i always thought that it is worth it...

According to me My Gynec works more hours than me...I use to take appointments in the morning then also there use to be a line of 50 patients considering the time she spends with one and then some of them are referred to tests and then they come again in between...and even i go in the evening she is there with the same amount of patients...and some of them are educated and some of them are uneducated so the time varies from patient to patient and in between there are emergencies, deliveries, last minute operations...what not...and over the top of it they do have a family....

Some complain to me that they don't speak well no courtesy, no explanations...I think its your responsibility to ask him...ya ya you are paying him but that does not mean you have taken his time or him forever..you pay for consultation and if you think that it should be justified...then ask questions...no doctor would say i won't answer your questions....

What is most unacceptable to me is if you are being paid by some one then you expect that its his responsibility to ask and know what are you doing, or where have u reached or do u need any help...E.g: In office we say you know my manager does not even ask me whether i am doing fine or not..he thinks he is paying me and i should do all the work....Same goes with the doctor..don't you think that you should ask the doctor rather doctor saying everything..they will say only essential things rest is your responsibility to ask...at the end its you health your doubts not his/her health and his/her doubts...

Last Saturday when i was in the hospital, the billing person had to take the blasting of one patient for not receiving his blood test report when he gave blood last evening...she said its not my department to comment on sir...its lab which did not give your reports and they are saying it will take time since there were lot of emergencies yesterday and they had to blood tests immediately for them...the person said so what...i wondered...if it was his/her relative in the emergency room and the hospital says so what...

An another lady blasted at the sonography nurse for bringing an In patient for an emergency sonography with the doctor.... she said i am in the line and the nurse said "emergency hai madam" and she said "emergency ke naam pe tumlog sab ko bhej the ho"...the nurse was speechless cause the lady who was bought in was in tremendous pain and you can see it on her face...I did not understand sonography takes 10mins what is going to happen in that 10mins are you gonna die but definitely that lady's pain can be reduced in that 10mins.

what if you had a emergency and the same doctor says with all the advice of people we have decided not to see emergency patients in OPD timings...then what?

It is not that i encourage nurses and ward people speaking rudely to patients...i also complained to my doctor about a ward lady in OPD who was rude in giving me an answer when i asked when is my turn..I told my doctor that she can't be shouting on me...and she was asked to say sorry..and in the same way i do understand when my doctor comes late to OPD by one hour...cause she says there is an emergency operation and i belive that there is one...

I think expectations from a doctor are too much...he should be the best in the town, he should speak to you with all the patience, even if you don't understand he should be explaining it again and again, even if you don't ask he should explain every detail of the disease as if you are going to give an MBBS exam, he should be on time irrespective of whether you are on time or not, he should be able to handle emergencies, in patients, OPD, Operations all in the same time, he should not be having any personal life....If all these expectations are
met then i think people would call him a perfect doctor and for a perfect hospital the reports should be given on time irrespective of whether you come on time or not to collect them, if possible they should call you and tell you the report, all the staff should be courteous to you whether you are with them or not, all the staff should explain to you what the emergency is if the doctor is late...then that makes a perfect hospital.

In the same hospital there are patients who say "That's ok we understand" and when you are one of them i think you will feel better being in an hospital...You go to hospital to get treated but at the end you walk out being agitated and with an increased BP.

I would say if you want to go to that particular hospital, its your decision. Yes the hospital advertised saying its the best in the town but it never forced you to come there..and if you have gone there you can give your advice as to how can they improve but not criticize them for not attending you at the given time...They at the end of the day save lives...and we have to respect them...Don't sit there and start discussing with other patients how bad is this hospital...you are agitated why agitate others also...When some one of this kind comes to me i smile and get up from there and go away...

There are instances when i am treated early when i had an emergency to go...Its purely because i don't yell at any body when i had to wait for 2 hours for a check up or wait 30 mins for a report.

Hospitality industry is there to serve with patience but then you can't always demand it...

Is it about playing with people's money

CWG seems to be a competition between many people as to how can we play with people's money rather than hosting games...

I was very happy seeing the news the other day when all the news channel's were broadcasting saying that all the countries are backing out...I would say that is what is needed to bring this country back to lines again...All athletes from India only should say we won't play in these games do what ever you want to...All the students who are being asked to attend CWG as audience should oppose we won't come...It is like you abandon the place completely...let them face the music from all the places...

In fact i will say we should abandon the elections only for one term...we must say we want to have President rule the country...no party has power to do any thing...let alone president take decisions and all IAS and IPS should be appointed to take action...all the ministers and parties should have a break for one complete term...A punishment they deserve...

I wonder whether some body in the whole bunch of politicians have some mind to think...One example for this...

This month we went for a trip to tirupati, while coming to chennai to board a flight the driver was telling us that the land prices will go up and if we want to invest then it is a good place to do so that we get high returns...i said why in the world the road side land prices would go so up...he said mallavaram project is coming madam...PM recently inaugurated it...there will be a international airport..after 3 to 4 years you need not come to chennai and then tirupati...you can fly directly...I did not say anything at that point but kept thinking for a good amount of time...Today there is no international airport at renigunta...there are private jets only for VIP's....All the international tourists land in chennai take a cab and then reach tirupati...Millions of people travel every year from different places like bangalore, chennai etc...Till now i never saw a express way from chennai to tirupati...forget about express way there is not even a four lane road...I wonder how come a PM who is so educated can support some thing like this...He must say No to such kind of inaugurations..He must oppose saying first you build roads, show that there is so much infrastructure that this project will be supported...Instead they sign a project of airport construction along with the roads and infrastructure..the airport comes first and then the roads to support them...then in the process there are traffic jams...so to avoid them they construct roads faster and then ultimately all this will lead to poor road quality...

I never vote for any political party, some times when i see advertisements during the election time encouraging to vote so that you can shape up your country i feel i should, but after seeing so many issues i feel i am better if i don't vote, at least i don't feel guilt for being a part of choosing such a leader to run the country as our representative...In fact i would say there is no deserving leader to vote...

Best time with my sister

Its been almost 13years or more she left India....I would have never felt like this...She visited India thrice (including this times visit)...

For the very first time this thought came to my mind "if she would have settled in India"...not that i can't fly to US or not that if she is in India i would be visiting her every month but the comfort that comes that is some what different..

My marriage preparations and other things have changed a lot between both of us...Long long discussions on phone many mail exchanges and many chat conversations when she use to get time...Both of us never cared for what would be our phone bills or what is the time i am calling her..there is a work call her up...There is some thing we both shopped for each other...shoot and send an email...I think we both stretched our time limits to mail or speak or chat to each other..Wish this thing remains the same way..I cherish the chats that we had...

This time she spent straight 15 days with me in pune and there is no work unlike last time she visited i was working from home...this time i made sure all the time is dedicated at home and that is what made a lot of difference and made more memories with anusha and avinash also...

We both use to shop like crazy...and the moment we use to come back..mom use to see covers and say "u shopped so much again" and she use to say i don't know why i shop so much how will i carry them back...We fought literally like street dogs and then we are one again..had best of the time with her in 15 days..best of time with anusha and avinash...Both of them were wonderful...now we will miss them again till the time they come to India again...We went to Jai shankar (the famous panipuri wala in pune)..had dabeli..had american corn..more than anything i think she would have consumed tons and tons of custard apple...

There were things which are left over also due to time constraints..at the end of 15 days we were so busy with the marriage things and other important shopping that some of them had to be left...Thali (i wanted her to taste maharastrian thali), she wanted to taste in vaishali, go to lucknow chikan palace to buy, Natural ice cream, eat in Indian subway(this was always on my important things list to take her to one..but i missed it again :( )...A movie together in a multiplex...this was not possible due to other constraints...but i am glad that we could all watch 3 idiots at home on TV..thanks to ICC cable...the things we missed this time will be forwarded to next time visit...then for sure there is nothing that will keep us busy except enjoying and doing more shopping...

All said and done i am into those moments till now and missing them and all of the missing is mixed with the new feeling of marriage and other set of moments that are to be stored...with all these i was reading all my past chats and mails and that made more feelings come in...

I was reading one of the chat with her which is two years back...I was feeling all lonely at that time..as that is also one of the life phases..I was completely telling it to her on the chat from beginning to end that i am lonely i am feeling lonely...she was trying to give me ideas to make that phase out of my life...at that time i was just saying and saying today when i was reading that chat i thought how would she have felt in some other country when she was going through the same phase..that time i was not even online to hear to her...

The only thing i wish today is that we continue speaking on phone the way we did and chat whenever we both can squeeze in some time...I always cherish chats cause when there is some thing else or your mood is down reading those chats refresh you and make you feel that the other person is with you...today i say it to myself that instead of waiting for her to call i will call her...to speak all the rubbish in this world..to feel that we are there for one another and will always be there...and to shop more for one another...you see shopping to give her things when she visits next time...

I don't know what she is feeling right now..cause she will be flying back tonight...but i am feeling wish 15days would have moved slowly...or each day would have more than 24 hours...I will wait for her to visit again....

Thanks to my dad that he gave us a memorable wedding anniversary to celebrate together...

Oh i forgot to write one important thing..thats why adding now..we both got our ears pierced (extra piercing normally done above the original one)...it was hell of a pain...but we both enjoyed that too...with her humor half of the pain is done...and the rest we both were nursed by mom...a forever memorable thing...when ever we touch our ears we will remember everything... :)

Love you Sis...

Priya.

This too shall pass - A story

I happened to read this story in LIFE (a edition that comes with Times of India on Sundays)...I guess many of you would have read it..but its good one to keep it here.

LIFE that day was a special edition because of Women's day...Rajeshree Birla a industrialist tells a story which even today gives her strength.

Once upon a time there lived this Jewish king named Solomon. In a grumpy mood, he thought of teaching Benamiah Ben Yehoyada, his minister, a lesson. So he assigned to him a seemingly impossible task. He ordered Benamiah to find him a magic ring with extraordinary features. And that was — if you were happy and wore the ring, you would feel unhappy. And vice-versa. If you were joyous and wore it, you would feel absolutely sad!

Solomon gave him a six-month timeline for the search. Deep down in their hearts, both Solomon and Benamiah knew that such a ring did not exist in this universe. Benamiah prayed hard for a miracle. A little before the deadline was over, and having walked all over for such a ring, he decided to go to one of the poorest places in Jerusalem.

There he saw an old merchant who was spreading out his goods on a carpet. Benamiah was quite intrigued. He thought, “Let me take a chance with him.” Therefore, he asked the merchant whether he had a magic ring that could make a happy person forget his happiness and a sad person forget his sorrow. The merchant smiled. He took a gold ring from his wares and etched four words on it. Benamiah took the gold ring. When he read the inscription he was extremely happy. He felt that his mission was accomplished. He went back to Solomon. Solomon and all his ministers began making a mockery of Benamiah, teasing him as he would have returned empty-handed. Benamiah smiled and offered the gold ring to His Majesty. As soon as Solomon read what was written, he stopped being a tease. The words were “this too shall pass”. Suddenly, Solomon felt that everything in life was ephemeral, and nothing lasts forever.

Marriage...Sinks in Slowly...

I have heard from many that marriage makes you cry sometimes and it makes you laugh sometimes and at the end it sinks slowly that you are getting married and when all done that you are married and so on so forth...

Have no idea whether it happens it with everyone or not but it is sinking in to me slowly day by day...the more the days are nearing by the heart keeps thinking...That's it...in like three months all the things are done...12 weeks are not hard to pass by but they seem like a hill before me...Is that it...you get married and everything changes in that second...Might be my fiance is true in saying that we will go in for a traditional marriage...But some how in the days gone by there is a major difference in me...the more the day is nearing by the less i am reacting....might be today i also feel like all others that this is the period you will enjoy with mom and dad and sister like their own child...

One day in a big argument with my Sis i told her some thing that "I wish...." but today i feel that i should not have said that..its not her mistake for which we had a argument...See marriage makes you feel that you should immediately repair any scar in your relationship so that you can enjoy more and more...Today she is the one who is taking involvement from such a far distance and feeling the marriage from there..of course its just 6 weeks she will be here and then she too will be engrossed into this more than me for sure..

One thing i like about my marriage date is the fact that Me and My sis are gonna enjoy our marriage day every year on the same day...I would not say its a mere coincidence the credit goes to my DAD....The one master mind in our family for everything....Right from my MBA anyone who use to come to me and say my marriage is fixed and when they use to say the date i use to ask them whats more on that day...they use to say nothing it just is a day taken out by some body in their family...But i use to always think that my marriage will have a coincidence with some thing or the other days like April 5 (my tinku's b'day), July 1(Mom's B'day), July 27(Dad's B'day), Dec 19(Sisters B'day) or the b'days of the boys family...make it one of the day...But see i never thought of celebrating it along with my sis every year..And that's why the saying goes...You wish some thing..god gives you more than that  :)

So the feeling sinking in..My fiance keeps giving me more and more ideas to do things as if i have no work.. Of course he feels so cause anything he says to me i am ready with the answers by evening..so he keeps thinking of new things so that i leave him free to finish of things..The new ideas like have a wedding blog which we can visit, take the pics of the place you are visiting to buy stuff...write those experiences...pics of my tailors...their visiting dates...trail dates...parlour searching...everything...so goes on the list to write about...which of course is not a bad idea to think about...lets see..One blog which already exists i hardly post on it...an another one to see at...Ha ha ha ha.

Anyways with all the things going on..Booking tickets for everyone..searching for accommodation..thinking about the ways we can find out more places near by to home...Discussions with sister..and every night these days i have a chit chat with mom, she will go back on Saturday :( ...Searching for wedding invitation wordings....and ya..when my sis sent me the reply back and when i was typing the final invitation wordings..i felt so strange today...that's where the title of the post is appropriate...Its sinking in slowly...with less number of days left...

Mind you own business...

This is what i was thinking last week when i was in a shop...I was saying to my own self why can't i just mind my own business...but instead of saying this i should be saying...Not all elderly people are good and respectful...

I live in a society where almost 55% are of old people...It is a very nice and good respected society of pune...When me and my roommate thought of shifting to this society we were thinking a lot...Might be all the old persons would be a problem...if we happen to come late they might complain and if at any point of time there is a get together at our place for some bday they might talk to the society and stuff...But these people are so good...they live their lives and all of them are co-operative for everything...

Oh as my habit goes...deviating from the topic..since these days my roomie is not at home..i went to the near by shop to say not to drop in milk for some days since there was a over stock of milk at home...Then there was a old uncle who said this guy distributes milk as if he is giving it for free and then told the shop keeper did u hear dont drop milk at her place...i was suprised since i know the shop keeper very well and he is a nice guy...i smiled at uncle and took some more stuff i require and then started moving away...suddenly this uncle came to me and asked me where are u from...i said Hyderabad...then he said u dont seem to be from south at all...i was suprised to hear that too since all the people who meet me immediately say you look like u are from south India..i said thank you and started moving away...he again came along and said where do u stay what do u do...and stuff and then he started asking personal questions..by that time i came to my society gate and expected he would turn back but then he said OH you stay in this society i must say very nice society...and then he was walking with me towards the gate...i was like u dont stay in this society why are you coming with me (ofcourse in my mind)...

This so called uncle had an intention of coming with me to my place so i told him bye uncle..i have to go he is like let me drop you till ur apartment...then i understood and decided to get rid of him...i told him that i am going to my fiancees place and he stays in the same society and then my future MIL and FIL are also there...and if you want to meet please come along..he suddenly made a stupid face and said thats ok...i am not interested in meeting all of them..i will go back to my flat...i smiled and said bye..

I was scared to some extent but then went up to my society's security staff and told them not to let that guy inside the building for any reason, he said fine mam...i brought the same thing into the notice of my society and then they said if in any case the guy i showed claims to know some one the security will follow him till their entrance....i was relieved...

And now i feel why cant i mind my own business and let the go...i should not have smiled at that uncle only...and more over i am suprised at the mentality of such guys in this world..who are so cheap in their thoughts and they make loose our respect to the older generation...

Work Politics...Is it so disturbing...

Seems like a topic that i dreaded to write from long time on a blog...These days it has become so obvious of everybody to complain "this guy in my office does this way" "my boss just does not understand and take responsibility"

It seems that its not work politics that are being played it seems that the tolerance level of people have gone down drastically...the knowledge part is the main thing...we learn in our first jobs and then in the second job and in the third job and finally we say now i know more and i am in a state of teaching...why the hell my boss does not understand it?

I feel what ever you learn how much ever you gain experience you have a boss and its a simple equation...You have been appointed undersome one else shows that you are not completely capable enough of holding everything and anything...and that proves he knows more than you...So what i ask is..why cant you accept him the way he is...

I always tell people...why do you fight with him...at the end whether you like him or not..you got no other choice and you will have to live with him till the time you are in that company...People reply back saying nahi i will change my team i will change my boss...I keep telling them thats not gonna solve the root problem...it still remains that way...

I some times wonder...My dad is my role model..he worked in a centralized back for 35 years and believe me i never heard him saying "I am resigining from this bank"...its not that he had all the fruitful career...he was also denied promotions for stupid reasons...he was transffered since some one else wanted to come to that place...his own batchmates played politics with him...but what he always use to say is its not the time to resign since i still have to learn things from here...

So the basic point is...Everywhere in this world where ever you work...there will be politics you have only one choice to choose...Whether you want to be a part of it...or not..

When you choose not be a part of it then don't complain do your work honestly...and belive that your boss knows what you are doing...he is not being paid to torture you...he knows but some times he reacts because of some one else not cause of you...leave it when he reacts...don't get into a fight with...it helps...

Aakasamantha - A telugu movie...

Recently when i went to tirupati to visit my parents, i saw many movies :) one them happened to me this movie...Aakasamantha...

The movie is about a relationship between a father and her daughter. For the first time i liked Tirsha (the actress who plays the daughter).

The movie is all about how a father always guides his daughter in every step she takes in her life, right from when she is born..It is a normal story in any family and that is what i think is gonna make the movie be in stands for sometime.

There are some dialogues of Prakash Raj (The actor who plays the father) which are intersting and some times you tend to think on those lines...I am not sure whether all of them are there in the movie or not cause for everysong in the CD there is some intro before the song starts.

One of the song intro is as below:

Ask yourself or anybody, when did you last run out of your house when its raining to get wet in the rain? I think 95% of us will answer in the childhood...Why don't we go out to just get wet like we use to run in the childhood? The rain is still the same, it comes every year the same way but now when rain comes why do we run into the house instead running out?

Nature also teaches us. It gives us a chance every year to become a kid and enjoy, but we don't and why?
Answer...You know..Don't you...

At the end of the movie one of the character in the movie asks Prakash Raj about why did he do so? and he answers..."When ever a child is born, a father is also born along with the child, but most of the times child grows up but the father still remains a child".

I think he said it right...Half of the time we even feel that why can't our fathers or mothers understand us..Now we call it generation gap thinking that they are old...But this movie says Generation gap cause you have grown up... :)

A nice movie and teaches many things...See it if you understand telugu... :)

Can you keep a secret....

The story is all about a gril Emma who spells out all her secrets to a stranger on a plane...The next day morning that stranger happens to be the founder of the company she is working for...and what happens next is for you to read....

As i finished this book i felt, that Emma had no big secrets in life to hide... she did not share with anybody is because of the situation...When she was on that turbulent plane she said all that, she never said to anybody ..coz she thought that she is not going to survive....

The way we all live our life...we have many things to say and share but we just don't do that coz of the situation, and some times coz because we think that the other person cannot understand what we felt...or for some other reason..and when it comes to the end it becomes a secret and then we always try and protect it and when ever a situation comes where we tend to say that or we feel that it will some how come out we start moving away from that......

This book connects to the readers since it happens with every one of us...

what Jack did was also right.....He helped her to find herself in some way...He helped her reveal those secrets to persons who should know them...and showed her that these things in life are not all that big.....Overall a good book and a nice story.

For a light read going to pick up "Confessions of a Shopaholic" by the same author...

Enjoy,

Courage - Where did it come from

Wondering why this topic all of a sudden...!!! Just a small experience of my life...

Long back i have undergone a operation..Its not about remembering the bad days or what pain I have gone through but when i think about it, i feel i had some lessons for life from that operation....

Even today when i look back at the complete journey (which of course is not yet done) i have mixed feelings about it...Some of course negative and some positive..and every time i think about it i give my best to retain only the positive feelings...

To be frank there was no body from my family who motivated or was filling courage into me...Every time i discussed i had standard questions....You decided for this...didn't you? Did you inquire about it properly? How much is the time frame for you to recover? When can you meet guys for marriage after all this like in a month?...At that point i decided forget about who is motivating who is filling courage...I will build it on my own...

First lesson...Do not wait for anybody in this world to do anything...its your life and whoever it is there are not gonna do anything....they are just looking at you with their parameters which is not wrong..so move on do it for yourself....

There were friends who stood by they always supported and they were there when operation also took place...But some times I use to get so irritated with braces and use to breakdown when i cant eat anything...They even did not know what to do...Days went by and then the final day got fixed..July 4th (American Independence Day)...I called up home to say this and they said fine....I called up almost everyone with me and some of them said take care some said we will be there and some said fine....I felt that no body is understanding whats going inside me they are not even speaking to me for some more time, at the end of the day i went to meet my doctor...he said...Do not think about anybody else..You will have to build it up on your own and you will have to face it....

Second Lesson: Anybody in your life will not be there to understand how you are feeling the only thing that is required is work done..."Is it done...Fine".."not done...Why not done?"

The Final Day: I was in a confused state of everything..getting ready for operation (wear these set of clothes, take a pill, tie your hair this way, all the things that nurse was instructing me)...At the end when i was being taken to the theater i waited that some one would pat my shoulder and say "Go on...come back with smiles" no one did that...when i was waiting in the recovery room I was wondering...that whatever the reason might be i opted for it and then i did everything from A to Z everyone is happy that i am getting it done...but why that no body is interested in standing by...I wondered that if i would have resisted for anything of the process they would have said...."I knew you cant stand for it, you took a wrong decision, i told you its a pain which you cant stand" since i was not resisting anything...the statements change...But why not encourage that thing and stand by....

Lesson 3: For anything that you have decided in your life..there might not be anybody to appreciate when you succeed but for sure there would be 100's to criticize...and that's the way the world is...So when you fall remember that the only person who is there with you is YOU....They might do something for you but then in their own way so accept that, be yourself and move on....

Even today when i look back at the whole journey i remember some things...Mangesh (guy who was operated along with me) his courage...My doctor telling me that "you were motivated enough that we could do our job perfectly"...Shalini introducing me to a patient saying "Learn courage from her"...some times i feel its that the outside world which recognizes you but people who were with you for entire life never say anything...that might be because they have accepted you...and they think that you understand them...

The process is not yet over but i have recovered back and now living a normal life...But some times i still feel that some of them are still not understanding what is left after operation is more important to handle than what is over...and this is exactly what my doctor told me the first day i met her..."Its easy to take this decision and getting it done but its difficult to take after it is over" and she of course is true... :)

Everything in life teaches you something...Even a person who drives you crazy shows you where your limits are...So i learned from this too and now i am in a full swing of putting all those in my life and enjoying it...

Serving Crazy with Curry

This book is recommended by my sister, and i picked it up and finished it long back but never got a chance to post about it...Indeed long time I did not write any thing over here... :) Now posting since i remembered about it and again read this book for the second time just two weeks back...

This book is about a girl Devi who is meddling with her life and asked to leave her job and then forced to stay with her parents and with all these going around she finds her interest in cooking and then she starts making awesome food...the story reveals many things about her life...a worth reading.

After reading this book i was thinking about many things...This book also hints of all those people who are forced to stay abroad by some reason and still want to come back to India but bonded over there they can never take that step for some reason.

Devi the main character in this book looks life in a different way than her family does and never wanted to stay with her mother...she comes back starts staying with them...but never utters a word...But she has many things going in her heart...Reading all those things we start thinking about them...The most important thing is we do read and remember and then feel for a day or two but forget things that made us feel ya even we do this or we also did this...

When my sister recommended this book she did mention that "you might find some thing similar" i don't know what did she find similar...But yes i did find many things similar..Some times i agree with Devi but some times she is also wrong...It is a nice book...Once you start reading you will have a push from inside to complete it also....There was a kind of similarity in many of the things how it happens with me most of the times...

Read it...a kind of different story...

Attachment...why is it so important

Why is that attachment is so important in life...why can't we just be caring and loving with out developing attachment...

When I was a kid, One day i asked my dad that why do we keep changing places every two years..I have friends here and i am happy with this place..i love my room and the city too..He answered me saying that my job demands moving places and its good for us....he told me that you should be loving this place with out actually developing attachment towards it...At the age i wondered whether it would be possible that you can love some thing and never get attached to it and i felt that it would not be possible...but as i grew up i actually learned from him that yes you can love with out getting attached to it....and my own personal experiences and family taught me that it is necessary to be like that.

But why does this world demand an attachment...Leave people, we get attached to the places too...I always thank my dad's job for this that we are never attached to any place...and to my surprise today some body asks for a permanent address i say i don't have one where i have lived for ages...It seems strange to people...but this thing has given me the strength and ability to love everything but would never get attached with that and it actually met all the demands of the people around me...

Now no attachment does not mean that i don't actually love any body and will not be there for anybody..but the basic point is if you love some body and care for some body you need not get attached to that person and be with him/her always...its ok even if they are not around..even if they don't express that they love you...its just that the other person around you should know you and understand your unexpressed love and feel it...that is called as eternal love...with no attachments and free from everything....

Fears...An another article that i read in newspaper...

Over time, we all gather a set of constricting habits around us — ones that trap us in a zone of supposed comfort, well below what our potential would allow us to attain. Pretty soon, such habits slip below the level of our consciousness, but they still determine what we think that we can and cannot do — and what we cannot even bring ourselves to try. As long as you let these habits rule you, you will be stuck in a rut.

Like the tiny, soft bodied creatures that build coral reefs, habits start off small and flexible, and end up by building massive barriers of rock all around your mind. Inside the reefs, the water feels quiet and friendly. Outside you think it’s going to be rough and stormy. There may be sharks. But if you’re to develop in any direction from where you are today, you must go outside that reef of habits that marks the boundaries of your comfort zone. There’s no other way. There’s even nothing specially wrong with those habits as such. They probably worked for you in the past. But now it's time to step over them and go into the wider world of your unused potential. Your fears don’t know what’s going to be out there, so they invent monsters and scary beasts to keep you inside.

Nobody’s born with an instruction manual for life. Despite all the helpful advice from parents, teachers and elders, each of us must make our own way in the world, doing the best we can and quite often getting things wrong. Messing up a few times isn’t that big a deal. But if you get scared and try to avoid all mistakes by sticking with just a few tried and true behaviours, you will miss out on most opportunities as well. Lots of people who suffer from boredom at work are doing it to themselves. They are bored and frustrated because that’s what their choices have caused them to be. They are stuck in ruts they dug for themselves while trying to avoid making mistakes and taking risks. People who never make mistakes never make anything else either.

It’s time to pin down the habits that have become unconscious and are running your life for you, and get rid of them. Here’s how to do it: Understand the truth about your habits. They always represent past successes. You have formed habitual, automatic behaviours because you once dealt with something successfully, tried the same response next time, and found it worked again. That’s how habits grow and why they feel so useful.

To get away from what’s causing your unhappiness and workplace blues, you must give up on many of your most fondly held habits and try new ways of thinking and acting. There truly isn’t any alternative. Those habits are going to block you from finding new and creative ideas. No new ideas, no learning. No learning, no access to successful change.

Do something differently and see what happens. Even the most successful habits eventually lose their usefulness as events change the world and fresh responses are called for. Yet we cling on to them long after their benefit has gone. Past strategies are bound to fail sometime. Letting them become automatic habits that take the controls is a sure road to self-inflicted harm.

Take some time out and have a detailed look at yourself — with no holds barred. Discovering your unconscious habits can be tough. For a start, they are unconscious, right? Then they fight back. Ask anyone who has ever given up smoking if habits are tough to break. You've got used to them and they are at least as addictive as nicotine or crack cocaine.

Be who you are. It’s easy to assume that you always have to fit in to get on in the world; that you must conform to be liked and respected by others or face exclusion. Because most people want to please, they try to become what they believe others expect, even if it means forcing themselves to be the kind of person they aren’t, deep down.

You need to start by putting yourself first. You are unique. We are all unique, so saying this doesn’t suggest that you are better than others or deserve more than they do. You need to put yourself first because no one else has as much interest in your life as you do; and because if you don’t, no one else will. Putting others second means giving them their due respect, not ignoring them totally. Keeping up a selfimage can be a burden. Hanging on to an inflated, unrealistic one is a curse. Give yourself a break.

Slow down and let go. Most of us want to think of ourselves as good, kind, intelligent and caring people. Sometimes that's true. Sometimes it isn’t. Reality is complex. We can’t function at all without constant input and support from other people. Everything we have, everything we have learned, came to us through someone else’s hands. At our best, we pass on this borrowed existence to others, enhanced by our contribution. At our worst, we waste and squander it. So recognise that you are a rich mixture of thoughts and feelings that come and go, some useful, some not. There’s no need to keep up a façade; no need to pretend; no need to fear of what you know to be true.

When you face your own truth, you’ll find it’s an enormous relief. If you are maybe not as wonderful as you'd like to be, you aren’t nearly as bad as you fear either. The truth really does set you free; free to work on being better and to forgive yourself for being human; free to express your gratitude to others and recognise what you owe them; free to acknowledge your feelings without letting them dominate your life. Above all, you will be free to understand the truth of living: that much of what happens to you is no more than chance. It can’t be avoided and is not your fault. There’s no point in beating yourself up about it.

What is holding you in situations and actions that no longer work for you often isn’t inertia or procrastination. It’s the power of habitual ways of seeing the world and thinking about events. Until you can let go of those old, worn-out habits, they’ll continue to hold you prisoner. To stay in your comfort zone through mere habit, or to stay there because of irrational fears of what may lie outside, will condemn you to a life of frustration and regret.

There's a marvellous world out there. You'll see, if you try it.
