Best time with my sister

Its been almost 13years or more she left India....I would have never felt like this...She visited India thrice (including this times visit)...

For the very first time this thought came to my mind "if she would have settled in India"...not that i can't fly to US or not that if she is in India i would be visiting her every month but the comfort that comes that is some what different..

My marriage preparations and other things have changed a lot between both of us...Long long discussions on phone many mail exchanges and many chat conversations when she use to get time...Both of us never cared for what would be our phone bills or what is the time i am calling her..there is a work call her up...There is some thing we both shopped for each other...shoot and send an email...I think we both stretched our time limits to mail or speak or chat to each other..Wish this thing remains the same way..I cherish the chats that we had...

This time she spent straight 15 days with me in pune and there is no work unlike last time she visited i was working from home...this time i made sure all the time is dedicated at home and that is what made a lot of difference and made more memories with anusha and avinash also...

We both use to shop like crazy...and the moment we use to come back..mom use to see covers and say "u shopped so much again" and she use to say i don't know why i shop so much how will i carry them back...We fought literally like street dogs and then we are one again..had best of the time with her in 15 days..best of time with anusha and avinash...Both of them were wonderful...now we will miss them again till the time they come to India again...We went to Jai shankar (the famous panipuri wala in pune)..had dabeli..had american corn..more than anything i think she would have consumed tons and tons of custard apple...

There were things which are left over also due to time constraints..at the end of 15 days we were so busy with the marriage things and other important shopping that some of them had to be left...Thali (i wanted her to taste maharastrian thali), she wanted to taste in vaishali, go to lucknow chikan palace to buy, Natural ice cream, eat in Indian subway(this was always on my important things list to take her to one..but i missed it again :( )...A movie together in a multiplex...this was not possible due to other constraints...but i am glad that we could all watch 3 idiots at home on TV..thanks to ICC cable...the things we missed this time will be forwarded to next time visit...then for sure there is nothing that will keep us busy except enjoying and doing more shopping...

All said and done i am into those moments till now and missing them and all of the missing is mixed with the new feeling of marriage and other set of moments that are to be stored...with all these i was reading all my past chats and mails and that made more feelings come in...

I was reading one of the chat with her which is two years back...I was feeling all lonely at that time..as that is also one of the life phases..I was completely telling it to her on the chat from beginning to end that i am lonely i am feeling lonely...she was trying to give me ideas to make that phase out of my life...at that time i was just saying and saying today when i was reading that chat i thought how would she have felt in some other country when she was going through the same phase..that time i was not even online to hear to her...

The only thing i wish today is that we continue speaking on phone the way we did and chat whenever we both can squeeze in some time...I always cherish chats cause when there is some thing else or your mood is down reading those chats refresh you and make you feel that the other person is with you...today i say it to myself that instead of waiting for her to call i will call her...to speak all the rubbish in this world..to feel that we are there for one another and will always be there...and to shop more for one another...you see shopping to give her things when she visits next time...

I don't know what she is feeling right now..cause she will be flying back tonight...but i am feeling wish 15days would have moved slowly...or each day would have more than 24 hours...I will wait for her to visit again....

Thanks to my dad that he gave us a memorable wedding anniversary to celebrate together...

Oh i forgot to write one important thing..thats why adding now..we both got our ears pierced (extra piercing normally done above the original one)...it was hell of a pain...but we both enjoyed that too...with her humor half of the pain is done...and the rest we both were nursed by mom...a forever memorable thing...when ever we touch our ears we will remember everything... :)

Love you Sis...

Priya.

Tagged again..

I got a honest scrap award from Renu..With the award comes a tag, 10 things about you which are not obvious (less known)..well there would be many which are known to people who know me in person...But in blog world less people know them...

1. I have become a movie freak now..I try going to theater every Friday/Saturday to see a movie. if i did not  then i will download and see the movie.

2. I like having freedom at work...I hate bosses who want everything to be done in their way..thank god my boss is not like that..

3. I loose my temper very fast..of course working on it now.

4. I hate people who beg. If i see a elder person begging i buy him food and give him but never drop a coin in his hand. I don't trust them in that case. So better is get them food.

5. I get infuriated when anybody has health problem in my family.

6. I hate all the politicians in India and at one point of time i feel that i will be a better minister than so and so.

7. I always wanted to be pilot. One gives a chance to me now i would love to.

8. None of my family members and friends except my sister and fiance know that i do blogging [:D]

9. I like long drives..Especially if you give me steering i love it.

10. I like dolphins and dogs the most. Even today if i see a dog and i can afford biscuits i never rethink.. I will go to USA one day for seeing the dolphin show.

Hmmm..Choosing 10 points is the toughest part.

Thanks Renu for the award...

This too shall pass - A story

I happened to read this story in LIFE (a edition that comes with Times of India on Sundays)...I guess many of you would have read it..but its good one to keep it here.

LIFE that day was a special edition because of Women's day...Rajeshree Birla a industrialist tells a story which even today gives her strength.

Once upon a time there lived this Jewish king named Solomon. In a grumpy mood, he thought of teaching Benamiah Ben Yehoyada, his minister, a lesson. So he assigned to him a seemingly impossible task. He ordered Benamiah to find him a magic ring with extraordinary features. And that was — if you were happy and wore the ring, you would feel unhappy. And vice-versa. If you were joyous and wore it, you would feel absolutely sad!

Solomon gave him a six-month timeline for the search. Deep down in their hearts, both Solomon and Benamiah knew that such a ring did not exist in this universe. Benamiah prayed hard for a miracle. A little before the deadline was over, and having walked all over for such a ring, he decided to go to one of the poorest places in Jerusalem.

There he saw an old merchant who was spreading out his goods on a carpet. Benamiah was quite intrigued. He thought, “Let me take a chance with him.” Therefore, he asked the merchant whether he had a magic ring that could make a happy person forget his happiness and a sad person forget his sorrow. The merchant smiled. He took a gold ring from his wares and etched four words on it. Benamiah took the gold ring. When he read the inscription he was extremely happy. He felt that his mission was accomplished. He went back to Solomon. Solomon and all his ministers began making a mockery of Benamiah, teasing him as he would have returned empty-handed. Benamiah smiled and offered the gold ring to His Majesty. As soon as Solomon read what was written, he stopped being a tease. The words were “this too shall pass”. Suddenly, Solomon felt that everything in life was ephemeral, and nothing lasts forever.

Marriage...Sinks in Slowly...

I have heard from many that marriage makes you cry sometimes and it makes you laugh sometimes and at the end it sinks slowly that you are getting married and when all done that you are married and so on so forth...

Have no idea whether it happens it with everyone or not but it is sinking in to me slowly day by day...the more the days are nearing by the heart keeps thinking...That's it...in like three months all the things are done...12 weeks are not hard to pass by but they seem like a hill before me...Is that it...you get married and everything changes in that second...Might be my fiance is true in saying that we will go in for a traditional marriage...But some how in the days gone by there is a major difference in me...the more the day is nearing by the less i am reacting....might be today i also feel like all others that this is the period you will enjoy with mom and dad and sister like their own child...

One day in a big argument with my Sis i told her some thing that "I wish...." but today i feel that i should not have said that..its not her mistake for which we had a argument...See marriage makes you feel that you should immediately repair any scar in your relationship so that you can enjoy more and more...Today she is the one who is taking involvement from such a far distance and feeling the marriage from there..of course its just 6 weeks she will be here and then she too will be engrossed into this more than me for sure..

One thing i like about my marriage date is the fact that Me and My sis are gonna enjoy our marriage day every year on the same day...I would not say its a mere coincidence the credit goes to my DAD....The one master mind in our family for everything....Right from my MBA anyone who use to come to me and say my marriage is fixed and when they use to say the date i use to ask them whats more on that day...they use to say nothing it just is a day taken out by some body in their family...But i use to always think that my marriage will have a coincidence with some thing or the other days like April 5 (my tinku's b'day), July 1(Mom's B'day), July 27(Dad's B'day), Dec 19(Sisters B'day) or the b'days of the boys family...make it one of the day...But see i never thought of celebrating it along with my sis every year..And that's why the saying goes...You wish some thing..god gives you more than that  :)

So the feeling sinking in..My fiance keeps giving me more and more ideas to do things as if i have no work.. Of course he feels so cause anything he says to me i am ready with the answers by evening..so he keeps thinking of new things so that i leave him free to finish of things..The new ideas like have a wedding blog which we can visit, take the pics of the place you are visiting to buy stuff...write those experiences...pics of my tailors...their visiting dates...trail dates...parlour searching...everything...so goes on the list to write about...which of course is not a bad idea to think about...lets see..One blog which already exists i hardly post on it...an another one to see at...Ha ha ha ha.

Anyways with all the things going on..Booking tickets for everyone..searching for accommodation..thinking about the ways we can find out more places near by to home...Discussions with sister..and every night these days i have a chit chat with mom, she will go back on Saturday :( ...Searching for wedding invitation wordings....and ya..when my sis sent me the reply back and when i was typing the final invitation wordings..i felt so strange today...that's where the title of the post is appropriate...Its sinking in slowly...with less number of days left...

Mind you own business...

This is what i was thinking last week when i was in a shop...I was saying to my own self why can't i just mind my own business...but instead of saying this i should be saying...Not all elderly people are good and respectful...

I live in a society where almost 55% are of old people...It is a very nice and good respected society of pune...When me and my roommate thought of shifting to this society we were thinking a lot...Might be all the old persons would be a problem...if we happen to come late they might complain and if at any point of time there is a get together at our place for some bday they might talk to the society and stuff...But these people are so good...they live their lives and all of them are co-operative for everything...

Oh as my habit goes...deviating from the topic..since these days my roomie is not at home..i went to the near by shop to say not to drop in milk for some days since there was a over stock of milk at home...Then there was a old uncle who said this guy distributes milk as if he is giving it for free and then told the shop keeper did u hear dont drop milk at her place...i was suprised since i know the shop keeper very well and he is a nice guy...i smiled at uncle and took some more stuff i require and then started moving away...suddenly this uncle came to me and asked me where are u from...i said Hyderabad...then he said u dont seem to be from south at all...i was suprised to hear that too since all the people who meet me immediately say you look like u are from south India..i said thank you and started moving away...he again came along and said where do u stay what do u do...and stuff and then he started asking personal questions..by that time i came to my society gate and expected he would turn back but then he said OH you stay in this society i must say very nice society...and then he was walking with me towards the gate...i was like u dont stay in this society why are you coming with me (ofcourse in my mind)...

This so called uncle had an intention of coming with me to my place so i told him bye uncle..i have to go he is like let me drop you till ur apartment...then i understood and decided to get rid of him...i told him that i am going to my fiancees place and he stays in the same society and then my future MIL and FIL are also there...and if you want to meet please come along..he suddenly made a stupid face and said thats ok...i am not interested in meeting all of them..i will go back to my flat...i smiled and said bye..

I was scared to some extent but then went up to my society's security staff and told them not to let that guy inside the building for any reason, he said fine mam...i brought the same thing into the notice of my society and then they said if in any case the guy i showed claims to know some one the security will follow him till their entrance....i was relieved...

And now i feel why cant i mind my own business and let the go...i should not have smiled at that uncle only...and more over i am suprised at the mentality of such guys in this world..who are so cheap in their thoughts and they make loose our respect to the older generation...

Work Politics...Is it so disturbing...

Seems like a topic that i dreaded to write from long time on a blog...These days it has become so obvious of everybody to complain "this guy in my office does this way" "my boss just does not understand and take responsibility"

It seems that its not work politics that are being played it seems that the tolerance level of people have gone down drastically...the knowledge part is the main thing...we learn in our first jobs and then in the second job and in the third job and finally we say now i know more and i am in a state of teaching...why the hell my boss does not understand it?

I feel what ever you learn how much ever you gain experience you have a boss and its a simple equation...You have been appointed undersome one else shows that you are not completely capable enough of holding everything and anything...and that proves he knows more than you...So what i ask is..why cant you accept him the way he is...

I always tell people...why do you fight with him...at the end whether you like him or not..you got no other choice and you will have to live with him till the time you are in that company...People reply back saying nahi i will change my team i will change my boss...I keep telling them thats not gonna solve the root problem...it still remains that way...

I some times wonder...My dad is my role model..he worked in a centralized back for 35 years and believe me i never heard him saying "I am resigining from this bank"...its not that he had all the fruitful career...he was also denied promotions for stupid reasons...he was transffered since some one else wanted to come to that place...his own batchmates played politics with him...but what he always use to say is its not the time to resign since i still have to learn things from here...

So the basic point is...Everywhere in this world where ever you work...there will be politics you have only one choice to choose...Whether you want to be a part of it...or not..

When you choose not be a part of it then don't complain do your work honestly...and belive that your boss knows what you are doing...he is not being paid to torture you...he knows but some times he reacts because of some one else not cause of you...leave it when he reacts...don't get into a fight with...it helps...
