Are other countries correct or are we correct

This doubt is nagging in my mind from long time...Why do we think that we are always right, if we are then are the other countries wrong.... This post is about following rules.. Set by a particular governing body but not followed by us...

The society in which i use to stay before has this waste separation like wet and dry waste...I have moved out of the society and in this new society it is just introduced...I was happy of course.. I was in the lift the other day and then i heard two women who are high class society, driving good cars, educated people with good educated sons and daughters nagging about this issue..." Kya yaar ye society wale hamesha naya rules lagate rehte hai...aab ye dry waste or wet waste ka..kya farak padta hai...now i have to buy a new dustbin"...Immediately the other lady said why buy new dustbin, use small poly bags to keep the dust outside...Apparently this lady's son stays in USA...I was surprised.....

Not only this we are not bothered about many things...My husband keeps saying..when on a red light, the person who is at the back of all the cars is the one who will honk immediately after the signal turns green....Half of the people who do this are educated enough not to do that...But we still do...I understand emergencies where people are in hospital and you need to reach in that minute itself but by driving like this are you not risking your life and others also...

I wonder why USA and UK people drive as per traffic rules...i am not saying that all of them do...But 90% of them do...and in India 90% of us don't do...Bearly people stop when a person is trying to cross a road...Remember that pedestrian has the first right on the road...When people visit other countries they say you know..they have a system jaha pe pedestrian can choose to change the signal to red and cross the road if he wants to...i am so moved by that technology...So what if we don't have the technology...when you come back would you stop for a pedestrian to cross the road...No no aisa kaisa hoga...mere peeche wale gaadi honk karega...so what where does your judgement go..if he wants to jump you will also jump into the well ....

India first needs to change the way they issue driving licence...A written test should be there and then a verbal test and then a driving test...which should be given to the army people who have a proven track record of not taking bribes...Because today i don't believe that there is one traffic police who does not take bribe and i don't find fault with them..cause we offer it...

Some basic rules of traffic:

1. STOP when a pedestrian is trying to cross the road, it does not matter in which road and how much is the traffic, just STOP let him cross....

2. STOP at the yellow light of the signal...you need not put your car in fourth gear, honk and cross the signal..the maximum time of the signal will be 120secs...2 min of your time...

3. Don't HONK at red signals..

4. Don't STOP on zebra crossings....

5. Don't Change LANES as per your wish when you are struck in traffic jams

6. If some body is indicating right or a left, let them go by, STOP and let them change lanes...

I also know how frustrating it is to drive these days, i also feel other countries follow rules cause they have big roads, but i also think at the same time, did they have them right from the first day...

Our traffic sense is so bad, that we today don't offer side to an ambulance...where as in other countries, when they hear the siren all of them move and make the way to go...I wonder why can't we do that...Don't we know the value of the life of a person..No we do...but we just don't want to...One day on a highway the ambulance was behind a car with its siren on..this car driver was not giving side..we had to overtake the ambulance and the car and signal him to move...then he slowly moves..i felt like stopping him and slapping him...and for your information...this car driver is driving a benz and the car belongs to some reputed company (i don't want to quote the company, i read the sticker on his car)....

I wonder can we ever improve and make a better living...by just following some simple rules set by a particular governing body...

The lady in the lift does not separate her waste even today and the poor society guys keeps notices in the notice board about the same....

I agree we dont have a civic sense.but I realised one thing that many of our problems are because of our population too.In NJ where the population is more I have seen that many of these problems start..UK,US are better in Civic sense due to many reasons and one big reason is that they have less populationand more roads.

I seriously don't know whether we can always give population as the main cause and just continue the same thing..We need to build infrastructure...We need to follow traffic rules, once we follow i think we can demand for infrastructure...i think we just keep going into the vicous circle and never want to come out of it.
